Don’t be like dummies who have big dreams and big talk, but little action. You’re not a dummy so take the goal setting process seriously and you will accomplish more than you thought possible in less time. Get ready to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and success.

I. Embracing the Power of Goal Setting:

Listen carefully. Goal setting isn’t just some fluffy concept; it’s the roadmap to your dreams. You’ve got potential, but it’s time to turn that potential into reality. Setting goals gives you direction, purpose, and a laser-like focus. Stop wandering aimlessly and start taking charge of your life.

Many people drift through life aimlessly, unsure of what they should do or what they want to be. We’ve already covered the vision board process, so at this point you should have a crystal clear and exciting vision for the future that you’re aiming for. Goal setting is how your transform your current behavior into alignment with your epic vision.

II. The Crucial Benefits of Goal Setting:

The benefits of goal setting are tremendous. It ignites a fire within you, fueling your motivation like never before. It clarifies your vision, allowing you to see the bigger picture and prioritize what truly matters. And here’s the kicker: it pushes you to grow, both personally and professionally. Embrace it, and you’ll become unstoppable.

I’ve kept a written log of my goals for the last decade. Looking back at these has been very insightful. I accomplished every goal that I had set for myself. Now it didn’t always happen exactly the way that I though or in the exact time frame, but these goals all came to pass. So dream big. Set goals that inspire and challenge you. And then work like hell so they come to pass.

“The universe doesn’t give you what you ask for with your thoughts – it gives you what you demand with your actions”

– Steve Maraboli

III. The Domination Blueprint: Finances, Career, Relationships, Fitness, and Mindset:

I know that you want to be a big time real estate investor, but you cannot only have goals about money. Life is multidimensional and each area impacts another. Don’t think so? Try making some sales calls right after you get out of an argument with your partner. It’s time to tackle every crucial area of your life. Finances? Set aggressive goals to build wealth and secure your future. Career? Raise the bar high and chase those audacious dreams. Relationships? Don’t settle for mediocrity; set visionary goals that deepen connections and surround yourself with the right people. Fitness? Get off your ass and set goals that challenge your physical limits. Mindset? Develop an unbreakable mindset, grounded in your core values.

By focusing on these areas you can ensure that all areas of your life are aligned towards achieving your dreams. You don’t need to focus on each area with the same intensity, but don’t settle for average. We’re not trying to become a rich, fat slob whose family doesn’t talk to them anymore. Right?

IV. Embrace the SMART Goal Setting Method:

Let’s get to it then and set the actual goals. Don’t be lazy with this process and just put down a bunch of wishes (My goal is 6-pack abs, for instance). This isn’t the secret and just wishing you had things doesn’t do anything. You need to put down goals that work. Que the SMART goals framework.

S – Be Specific in your goals, leaving no room for ambiguity.

I am going to lose 1.5lbs/week until I reach 195 lbs on August 5th.

M – Measurable.

You want your goals to be trackable so that you know if you’re making progress or not.

A – Action Oriented.

The goals need to be based around the specific actions you’re going to take, not simply on the outcome. I am going to lose 1.5 lbs/week until I reach 195 lbs on August 5th by tracking my calories, hiring a personal trainer, and going to the gym 4 days/week to lift weights.

R – Realistic.

Make sure that the goals are just outside of your comfort zone and abilities, but don’t shoot for the moon. Create goals that makes you nervous when you think about it. You may not know exactly how you’re going to get there. If you did, this wouldn’t be a good goal. But it should be within reach for you. In keeping with our fitness example, being a fitness model 6 months after starting weightlifting is not achievable, but 3 years certainly is.

T – Timebound.

Indefinite goals do not create the urgency needed to change. If you didn’t need to change, you’d already have the things you wanted. Our fitness goal sets a specific time for accomplishment.

Your goals must have all these components. Creating good goals is a process which you will get better at over time. Therefore, don’t sweat it if your first attempt seems hard. Just have something to aim for.

IV.2 How to Apply SMART Goals in Planning

Now take your vision board for the future and work backwards. Look at the 5 critical area of your life. What things need to happen this year to accomplish your vision? What needs to happen this quarter to hit the year goal? Next dial down to the month, week and down to the day.

Set quarterly goals and then do monthly, weekly and daily planning to ensure that you’re on track to hit the quarterly goals. Write these goals down and then when you’re filling out your planner and calendar review these goals first. This is how you get clarity and confidence that the actions you’re taking today will ensure that you reach your destination.

Set 1-3 (but no more) goals for each of the 5 core areas: mindset/spirituality, fitness, finances, career, relationships for this quarter. Lastly, pick your top 3 priority goals for this quarter and highlight them. For the next 3 months, everything else is a distraction.

V. Tough Love: Aligning with Your Values:

The goals, behaviors and actions that you took got you to this point but will take you no further. It’s time to course-correct. Align your goals with your core values. Be honest with yourself and hold yourself accountable. Live a life that reflects who you truly are, and success will follow. It’s time to shed the false masks and be true to yourself.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

VII. Overcoming Obstacles and Embracing Resilience:

Life will throw curveballs your way. Brace yourself. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Keep pushing forward, adapt, and never give up. It’s through overcoming adversity that you truly grow. Embrace resilience, and success will be sweeter than ever.

VIII. Celebrate Your Victories, But Don’t Get Complacent:

When you achieve those goals, celebrate like there’s no tomorrow. But don’t get comfortable. Set new goals, set the bar higher, and keep pushing. Don’t settle for mediocrity; you’re destined for greatness.

IX. The Journey Never Ends:

This isn’t a one-time process. Goal setting is a lifelong practice. As you achieve your goals, set new ones. Keep evolving, keep pushing boundaries, and keep challenging yourself. Your potential is limitless, and your journey is just beginning.

Conclusion

I’ve just given you the tools to change your life. Embrace goal setting with every fiber of your being. Unleash your full potential, step into your greatness, and never settle for anything less. The road won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Trust yourself, believe in your abilities, and never forget that you have the power to shape your destiny. Now go out there and conquer the world. I believe in you.
