I’m glad you’re here and hope that you get a lot of value from the free content here. FiBy30 stands for Financial Independence by 30 years of age. But don’t worry if you’re younger or older than that.
No matter your age I believe that anyone can retire in 10 years or less. I have a dirty secret. I will not achieve financial independence by 30 years old, but am well on my way!
The fact is, you don’t know what you don’t know, but you can learn from the mistakes of others. I made many mistakes as a younger individual. My purpose in writing this website is to educate younger people on financial independence so that they can have amazing choices in their life and lead lives of passion.
I’ve heard it said over and over that financial education isn’t taught to people in schools. I know that I was certainly never filled in, and I have a master’s degree! So my goal is to provide that information to people in a way that’s relatable, free, and easy to understand.
The Goal is Early Retirement and Financial Independence (FI)
Retirement means not needing to work for another person, and ideally not needing to work at all! The way to accomplish this is either to stack large sums of cash (really challenging to do quickly), or to produce enough income from businesses to offset your spending needs.
We talk a lot about the tactics to achieve that. But if more knowledge was the answer, we would all have six packs and be billionaires. Clearly, something else is missing.
A major challenge in getting wealthy and earning your freedom is to get your mindset right. That is why a major focus at FIby30 is about the mindset of a successful individual. I personally really enjoy reading self-help, personal development, personal finance, and investing literature and have distilled those lessons here for you.
Not only do I study, but I’m on the journey with you. I’m currently still working a 9-5 job as a scientist in corporate America, but I’m also running a real estate investing company Green Sparrow Properties.
The Focus is on Real Estate Investing
My specialty is using real estate to generate passive income. I truly believe that, out of all of the options available, real estate investing provides the simplest and most effective path to escaping the rat race.
